That's the essence of today's episode, where we unravel the captivating journeys of individuals who have tapped into their unique brilliance through heart work. We're sharing the empowering tales of those like Jill, who confronted her fears head-on and fostered a haven for women seeking their purpose, and Tina, who channeled her academic frustrations into a meaningful mentorship for Black graduate students. Amy's transition from a high-pressure dental career to a life of grace, and Ramona's leap from education to influential leadership and ministry, further illustrate the profound effects of self-discovery and the bravery to pursue one's divine path.

Speaker 1:

Chapter 12, evidence of Brilliance. I am so proud of my clients who are doing their heart work. I have the privilege of walking with phenomenal women and a few brilliant men from all over the country who are dedicated to this journey. They are checking their baggage, building powerful boundaries and not just discovering but maximizing their innate, unique brilliance. Here are a few of their stories.

Speaker 1:

Jill was a participant in a business coaching program where I was invited to serve as the mindset coach. At the end of that program, jill reached out to learn how we could continue working together. She explained how she had endured many transitions in her life and was facing another crossroads. Jill had been out of corporate America for a while and needed to decide if she should return to the office or continue pursuing entrepreneurship. While she had many marketable skills drawn by a new church, she felt called to make a long distance move, to restart in a new state. Instead of focusing directly on the choices before her, jill and I dug into the heart work strategies. I knew if she could clear some clutter, her next step would be undeniable. In the process, jill became more aware of her unique brilliance and took steps to transition to her new state. To transition to her new state About this experience. Jill said I heard heart work and that's when I realized I needed to do the hard work. Avoiding the hard work kept me stuck for years. I learned true transformation requires work, not works, ie performance. Reformation requires work, not works, ie performance. It's the inside job that had me looking at what was in my backpack. I started a journey to healing and wholeness I never thought I needed. Jill now lives in her new state, has just purchased a beautiful new home and has opened that home to support other women in pursuing their God-given purpose. When I first met Jill, she would rarely unmute her camera for fear being seen. Now she is one of the first to speak up in our heart work community.

Speaker 1:

Tina is an accomplished professor who found herself frustrated by the culture and politics of the academy. When I met Tina, she had recently published her first book, was raising a toddler and was preparing to move her family to a new state. Tina was wrestling with whether she wanted to remain in academia or if it was time to do something different. She had toiled to gain respect in her field and it seemed the finish line was constantly moving. Through the hard work strategies, tina established new boundaries and accepted permission to manage her own energy regardless of imposed cultural norms her own energy regardless of imposed cultural norms. She also discovered a hidden passion for mentoring Black graduate students through their graduate experience and into their career field. In our work together, tina recognized her greatest professional joy had been supporting Black students during this phase of their education and she found she was already doing this work with several personal mentees but had never acknowledged it as an expression of her brilliance. Tina created a vision for a retreat she will facilitate to serve these students and she gained new clarity concerning her career path these students and she gained new clarity concerning her career path. In her own words, I went into each session knowing I wouldn't be able to hide or play small, and I left each session crystal clear about the next steps I could take to move closer to my goals. This was truly a transformational experience.

Speaker 1:

I met Amy during a workshop for professional women. She approached me in tears after the session and shared how my burnout story was so closely connected to her story. She had walked away from a long career in dentistry and shifted into real estate where she could set her own hours while she raised her babies. Amy now found herself in a searching place. She wasn't sure if she'd ever found her unique, innate brilliance and she had a strong desire to know exactly what God required from her so she could obey. Within the hard work community, amy found much more than a career path. She found community and rest for her soul. She discovered she had been toiling and striving to obtain God's favor when he desired her to learn the unforced rhythms of grace. Matthew 11, verse 29, message translation Through our walk together, amy discovered several options for her next career steps and she is learning to surrender to her current season as God continues to reveal next steps. In her own words, amy shared when I met Dr PBJ at a professional women's workshop, I was immediately drawn to her and recognized something different about her. She had so much energy and I was stuck in this place of always trying to do the thing God called me to do. Dr PBJ helped me to shift my mindset from being consumed with wanting to do the things that God called me to do instead of being who God created me to be, and I've learned that when I focus on that, the doing comes organically. In the Discover your Brilliance group, dr PBJ has taught me how to and that it's okay to tap into the innate abilities God designed within me. I learned that it's okay to give myself permission to dream again Kingdom-sized dreams, dreams.

Speaker 1:

Ramona is a multi-passionate woman dividing her time as an educator, a speaker, a minister, a singer and a conference host, and she takes on renovation projects with her husband in her limited spare time. Ramona came to our coaching community with an urge to leave education so she could fully pursue speaking and conference hosting. Although she was ready to get out of the classroom, she felt a definitive instruction that it was not her time to go. Prompted by Holy Spirit, she had recently begun a graduate degree. Ramona discovered there was a bridge set before her. She realized her degree and all her experience was setting her up to transition out of the classroom and into education leadership. She saw how God had set a path before her to become an administrator in education, which confirmed her urge to leave the classroom and provided a bridge to full-time ministry sometime in the future. Ramona settled into her steps of obedience and anticipates taking every step with God.

Speaker 1:

Ramona shared on a weekly Discover your Brilliance platform was to be intentional about my rest, because candid conversations about self-care were necessary for my growth. Dr Patrice Bucknew-Jackson is a midwife to women desiring more than a burnout testimony. My brilliance birthing experience will be a legacy to remember. Thank you, dr PBJ, for creating a safe incubator for me and other women to be nurtured and embrace their authenticity in self-discovery and embrace their authenticity in self-discovery. Chris is a dedicated heart worker, from my first podcast episode to every program I have opened. She was the first person to make a comment on one of my videos and provided the first testimonial I received by email. She's a woman who has cared for people for her entire adult life and the message of disrupting burnout resonates with her heart.

Speaker 1:

When Chris came to the heartwork community, she was facing the empty nest, seizing of her life. She had given everything to raise her children and now that they were moving on she didn't know who she was anymore. She had an undeniable desire to take a bold step just for herself, but she didn't know what that step should be. Chris found herself battling depressive symptoms as she grappled with her own significance without her children. Through the heart work community, Chris sought counseling for the first time and began to set boundaries with her husband, adult children, other people and her job. She also gained a new understanding of her own gifts, chris began to see how she had always been on the front lines to support people who were having a bad day, from working in a mental health facility to her job at a university and supporting her elderly mother-in-law. Chris is the problem solver you want to meet when your day seems to be falling apart. She's now in the process of understanding this brilliance and seeking God on how he might use her gift in this new season of her life. In her own words, chris shared Dr PBJ welcomed us with patience and always reminded us that we have all that we need in us.

Speaker 1:

We just have to see it for ourselves. She takes you on a journey from just being to becoming. My life is forever changed. Her faith and wisdom will remind you that with God, all things are possible.

Speaker 1:

None of these women have completed their heart work journey because there is no finish line. You will continue this journey as long as there is breath in your body. There is no need to go back to the cycle of burnout. But as you grow in brilliance, you'll transition to new levels. New levels require a freshly checked backpack, adjusted boundaries and a new awareness of who you are becoming.

Speaker 1:

The heart work strategies bring powerful revolution and revival to women like you. By checking your baggage, you uncover belief systems that hold you back from God's plan for your life. In building boundaries, you protect your brilliance and everything that means most to you. And through discovering your brilliance, you reclaim the life God created you to live and make an undeniable impact on the world around you. In this journey, you bring glory to God and invite his goodness into your life. By learning to live by the specific pattern he set for you, you are uniquely and wonderfully made. Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex. Your workmanship is marvelous. How well I know it.

Speaker 1:

Psalm 139 and 14. You are a masterpiece, for we are God's masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago Ephesians 2 and 10. There is no one like you, friend. Your brilliance is needed on the earth. No one else can do the work assigned to your hands and the best news you will never have to do it alone. God carries the full weight of the outcome and he sends people to yoke up with you to get it all done. The weight of your brilliance is easy and light. Anything else is unacceptable. Discover your brilliance, pursue that brilliance and let it shine. Hiding your brilliance kept you chained to the cycle of burnout. No more retreating. It's time for you to be everything God created you to be. Now you have the strategies. It's time to shine. I will close our time here together as I close every podcast episode, podcast episode. As always, friend, you are powerful, you are significant and you are loved. Love always, pbj, do the heart work. Write your brilliance story. What have you discovered about your brilliance through the heart work journey? What is your innate, unique brilliance? What evidence have you discovered to support your brilliance?
