Benjamin Tingey

Ben champions the voice of the patient, designing care experiences and business models that nail their Job to Be Done, and curates the voices of innovation thought leaders as host of A Sherpa’s Guide to Innovation podcast. 

Ben learned to speak Spanish fluently as a 19-year old serving the Hispanic immigrant community in South Carolina for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. His prior career experience includes Spanish language instruction, social entrepreneurship, healthcare startups, and hospital system corporate strategy. His love of American history and literature influenced his preference for schools named after famous Americans, attending Brigham Young University and The George Washington University.

Jay Gerhart

Jay thinks the world is better with the theories of Clay Christensen, human-centered design, and improv. As an innovation leader at Atrium Health (part of Advocate Health), Jay leads business model innovation projects and help train the organization’s leaders to become more effective innovators. He's experienced in using and teaching the outstanding business model innovation tools created by Alex Osterwalder and Strategyzer. Having trained at Second City Chicago and Charlotte Comedy Theatre in improvisation, Jay brings “Yes, And” and next-level teamwork to transformational initiatives. During his 25 years with Advocate Health, prior to joining the innovation team, he led many of the system’s most significant corporate strategy and planning initiatives, including Levine Children’s Hospital and Levine Cancer Institute.
