Not to show favouritism here or anything but i think this episode is personally one of my favourites of the whole of series 1 so i promise you, its worth a listen. In this episode i step away from how you might be feeling and what you might experience during your recovery period like we discussed in Recovery Part 1 and in this episode i start to address what might actually help during this time. Cause its blooming brutal you might want or need your girl to share some advice. Now i do this in my usual way of course by reflecting back on my recovery period and highlighting things i found helped me and things i found most definitely didn't. This episode may also be helpful for those who are the support system or caregivers to those with a disability or illness as it may help provide you with helpful tools and insight to enable you to safely help and care for your loved one. As i have said before the Recovery period is my heart and what made me into both the good and bad of who i am today and this episode takes you through how i worked my ass off to attempt this thing called recovery.
Now the reason this episode has been created is because i don't want anyone to let the initial horrors and horrific experiences encountered during the recovery period to mist your view of what being this thing called disabled is actually about. Yes it has some horrifically shocking parts to it but that's not the whole of it!. There's an amazing life to be had and created which a lot of that will be created through these tough times.... my recovery period made me, not initially granted, initially i was floored and spent a decade after stumbling through life stuck in fight mode from it, but i stand by it today as being the very f***ing thing that made me !

If there is anyone who would like any help or advice regarding anything discussed within this episode or would like to share their own personal experience or advice and be involved in the NKD community in anyway. Please do not hesitate to contact myself or others within the community at The Normal Kind of Disabled across all social media platforms or you can email me at thenormalkindofdisabled@outlook.com
