Sami Mesrour is a Partner of Jasper Ridge Partners where he focuses on top-down asset allocation, portfolio structuring and risk positioning. Additionally, Sami has responsibility for a range of public market investments. Prior to joining Jasper Ridge Partners in 2018, Sami was Chief Investment Officer of BlackRock’s multi-strategy hedge fund, and previously spent time within fixed income as a global macro portfolio manager and the Head of Asset Allocation for the firm’s quantitative hedge fund, as well as in securitized asset trading, cash management and credit analysis. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation and serves on the board of the CFA Society of San Francisco. Sami earned a BA in History from Columbia University and an MSc in Global Economic History from the London School of Economics.

Sanem specializes in strategic growth and sustainable development while leveraging her extensive experience across diverse industries, including investment management, technology, and philanthropy. 

As the Senior Impact Advisor of Silicon Valley-based philanthropist Sheri Sobrato, Sanem provides strategic advice and hands-on support in impact investing and philanthropic grantmaking activities, ultimately helping increase Ms. Sobrato’s investment capacity annually, in terms of both committed dollars and the number of ventures supported. She focuses on new funding opportunities and partnerships, as well as accelerating new ventures in funding-constrained areas like rare pediatric disease care and youth mental wellness. 

Sanem has board and leadership experience at Juilliard School, NYU, and Rotary Clubs. She holds an MBA from NYU’s Stern School of Business and a BBA in Finance from University of Texas at Austin.
