Professor Justin (Gus) Hurwitz work’s builds on his background in law, technology, and economics to consider the interface between law and technology and the role of regulation in high-tech industries. He has a particular expertise in telecommunications law and technology, including data- and cybersecurity, and was recognized as a Cyber Security & Data Privacy Trailblazer by the National Law Journal. He is the The Menard Director of the Nebraska Governance and Technology Center and the Co-Director of the Space, Cyber, and Telecommunications Law Program. Since joining the College of Law Faculty, his work has been cited by the FCC, FTC, Federal District and Circuit judges, and United States Senators, and he has spoken or testified before the Senate Commerce Committee, FCC and FTC, the United States Army's 7th Signal Command, and German and Colombian competition regulators.

Professor Elana Zeide teaches, researches, and writes about privacy and the legal, policy, and ethical implications of data-driven systems and artificial intelligence. Her work focuses on the modern day permanent record and how new learning, hiring, and workplace technologies impact education and access to opportunity. Recent articles include Student Privacy in the Age of Big Data, The Structural Consequences of Big Data-Driven Education, and Algorithms Make Lousy Fortune Tellers.

Zeide previously served as a PULSE Fellow in Artificial Intelligence, Law & Policy at UCLA's School of Law, a Visiting Assistant Professor at Seton Hall University’s School of Law, an Associate Research fellow at Princeton University’s Center for Information Technology Policy, a Visiting Fellow at Yale School of Law’s Information Society Project, and a Microsoft Research Fellow at New York University's Information Law Institute.

Elsbeth Magilton is the Executive Director of the Nebraska Governance and Technology Center (NGTC) and the Space, Cyber, and Telecommunications Law program at the University of Nebraska. She is also the executive producer and guest host of the podcast Tech Refactored and the host of The Girls Code Lincoln Podcast. She appeared at SXSW in March 2021 and has been quoted in The Atlantic, The Verge, and a host of other publications. Elsbeth speaks internationally on space law, women in technology, science fiction as a learning tool, and representation in technology. 

Professor Kyle Langvardt is a First Amendment scholar who focuses on the Internet’s implications for free expression both as a matter of constitutional doctrine and as a practical reality. His written work addresses new and confounding policy issues including tech addiction, the collapse of traditional gatekeepers in online media and 3D-printable weapons. Professor Langvardt’s most recent papers appear in the Georgetown Law Journal, the Fordham Law Review and the George Mason Law Review.
