My name is Katrina Mitchell. I am a director and writer. I have been defying expectations since 1986, and I've been a storyteller all my life.  I have produced, written, and/or directed over 20 projects, including short films, web series, television series, and music videos. I am the author of two books, each a collection of short stories and poems entitled She Lives and Text Messages respectively. My goal is to use storytelling to expand cultural narratives for people of African descent in the US and around the world. I am a Capricorn Mama to a Piscean Diva, and I bring my passion for storytelling into everything I do.
