Dr Ruchi Gupta
Dr Ruchi Gupta, MD, MPH is a Professor of Pediatrics and Medicine at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, Clinical Attending Physician at Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago, and the founding Director of the Centre for Food Allergy & Asthma Research.
She is recognized for her research in the areas of food allergy and asthma epidemiology, specifically her research on childhood food allergy prevalence. She has contributed to academic research surrounding economic costs, paediatric management of food allergy and asthma, ED visits and hospitalizations, quality of life and community interventions, especially in schools.
Regarding clinical care, she has published strategies to improve primary care management of both food allergy and asthma. Within the area of community health, she and her team have published some the largest studies on quality of life in food allergy as well as on labelling, risk-taking and school policies of epinephrine.
