#8 — A Leap of Faith with Frankie Winterstein
In today’s episode I speak with former NRL star Frankie Winterstein. We covered his tough Samoan upbringing to where he is in the world today. What it was like playing at the top of the game for 14 years and what it was like mentally deciding to give it all up to go and live the life he is living today.
Frankie, a doting father and loving husband tells us about the mental struggles of growing up in a dressing room of masculine legends where showing any sign of emotion was a sign of weakness. What life is really like for professional sportsmen behind the scenes and the pressures of being pedestalled by the general public brings.
The mental battles of going contract to contract and what life was like for his Queen, then later two children living abroad so Frankie could live out his dreams.
This was a very inspiring story and conversation to be involved in. To see where he is and the life they as a family choose to live today. Is nothing short of breathtaking. And it is available to us all. I hope you enjoy it.
