Dr. Noah Charney is an American writer and professor living in Slovenia. He is the author of hundreds of articles in world-renowned media and a dozen of books, including the best-selling novel The Art Thief and Slovenology, which is part memoir, part essay collection, part travel writing, and part guidebook to Slovenia.

He also regularly covers Slovenia for The Guardian newspaper’s travel section and writes about it everywhere from Lonely Planet to National Geographic, from the Washington Post to Atlas Obscura. 

He likes to define himself as an American who has always felt more at home in Europe.
