Speaker 1:

Hey there, kendra Korman here. Welcome back to another episode of Imperfect Marketing. Today we're diving into the exciting world of SEO's future, that's search engine optimization. Spoiler alert AI is the star of this show, but don't worry, you are still the director. So we're going to be exploring how AI is reshaping the SEO landscape and how you can use it to your advantage without losing your unique voice, which is so, so, so, so important.

Speaker 1:

So grab your popcorn and let's roll this futuristic film. So let's start with a little time travel. Remember the good old days of SEO, keyword stuffing, link farms and trying to outsmart the search engines. If Marty McFly time traveled from the early 2000s SEO era to where we are today, he'd probably say whoa, this is heavy dock. The SEO DeLorean has definitely hit 88 miles per hour, leaving keyword stuffing in the dust. Now the AI plot twist has definitely changed everything. So today's SEO is all about user intent, quality content and creating a stellar user experience. Ai has made search engines smarter than ever. They're not just reading your content, they're understanding it. It's like going from a flip phone to a smartphone. The game has completely changed, and while I talk a lot about leveraging AI for content creation, I am always, always, always, adding in the caveat that you editing and adding in your insights and experiences are the key piece to any content generation. It's not about copying and pasting. Unfortunately, there's a lot of copy and pasters out there who are filling the world and the internet with a bunch of junky content you want to add in your thoughts, your experiences, examples, opinions these copy and pasters. They make it hard to keep up, but so much easier to stand out. So let's talk a little bit about some AI tools that are making waves in the SEO world. These AI tools are like having your own personal Jarvis from Ironman. They're not quite building you a high-tech suit, but they're definitely giving you some SEO superpowers.

Speaker 1:

So first up, we have content optimization tools. There's two ClearScope and MarketMuse. These bad boys analyze top-ranking content and give you insights on what to include in your articles. It's like having an SEO expert looking over your shoulder as you write. But they also come with a pretty heavy price tag for their tools For keyword research. There's tools like keywordio and Phrase F-R-A-S-E. They're using AI to uncover hidden gem keywords and questions your audience is asking. It's like having a mind reading device for your target market. They're not quite as terrible in pricing, as ClearScope and MarketMuse, but there are other tools that are available for free, like the People Also Ask section on Google and Answer the Public, that are using AI to help you find the content and questions you need to be answering.

Speaker 1:

And, when it comes to SERP or Search Engine Ranking, page Analysis, se Ranking and SEMrush are using AI to provide deeper insights into what's ranking and why. It's like having x-ray vision into Google's brain, which is pretty cool. But here's the kicker While these tools are amazing, they are not meant to replace your creativity and expertise and understanding of your target. They're here to enhance it. To give you a starting point the magic really happens when you combine these AI insights with your unique perspective and experience. I feel like I'm a broken record when it comes to that, but it is so, so important to not be a copy paster. Now let me jump in here to add that again, they are not inexpensive tools. It really what you look, what is you, what is it that you are looking to do and what is your budget.

Speaker 1:

Now let's peek behind the curtain on how AI is influencing search engine algorithms, which also helps us better understand our content. Google's RankBrain and BERT B-E-R-T are prime examples of AI in action. These algorithms are getting better at understanding context, natural language and user intent. Rankbrain is a machine learning-based component of Google's core algorithm. It was introduced back in 2015. That's a long time ago. It helps Google understand search queries and deliver more relevant results by interpreting the intent behind the queries. Now BERT is a deep learning model introduced by Google in 2018. It's designed to improve the understanding of natural language by considering the context of words in a sentence bidirectionally.

Speaker 1:

Now what does all this mean for you? It means that creating high quality, relevant content is more important than ever. Ai is helping search engines understand the nuances of language, so you can focus on writing for humans, not robots. Now, that's been a trend for more than a decade now, but it is always worth a reminder. With AI like RankBrain and BERT, it's like Google's taken a red pill and can now see the matrix of content relevance. Our job is to create content so good. Even AI can't help but say, whoa, all right. Now here's where it gets really exciting. With all this AI buzz, you might be wondering, kendra, are we still needed? Do I really need to do any of my own marketing? My answer is a resounding yes, in fact, we are more important than ever In a world of AI generated content.

Speaker 1:

Being human is your superpower. It's like being Rick Deckard in Blade Runner. Your job is to stand out among the replicants by showcasing your unique human perspective. Now let me give you a real world example. I have a podcast. It's this one. You're listening to it. Now here's a little SEO hack for you. You can actually use AI to take the transcript of one of your interview episodes, like the one that I have that's releasing on Thursday, or the one that released on the Thursday before this one, and I can have it updated for Q&A schema. That will help it rank in the question areas of Google. It's genius. But here's the critical part. This works because it's real content. It's real answers that I recorded and thoughts by a guest. It wasn't generated by a chat bot. This is where you make a difference.

Speaker 1:

With all the AI generated content out there, you have an amazing opportunity to stand out. Your experiences, your unique perspective, your authentic voice that is what's going to differentiate you. For me, it's my sci-fi references, but don't let AI do everything for you. It's a tool, not a crutch. Now do you remember Google's helpful content update that came out. It's all about rewarding content that provides unique value. That's where you come in.

Speaker 1:

Your job is to create content that resonates with your audience, solves their problems and provides insights they can't get anywhere else. So how do we adapt our SEO strategy for this AI-powered future? Well, think of AI as your trusty tricorder from Star Trek. It can scan the SEO landscape, give you valuable data, but you're still Captain Kirk. You need to make the final decisions and boldly go where no content has gone before. That's the part of the unique content. So here's your action plan.

Speaker 1:

I want you to embrace AI tools, but use them wisely. Let them handle the grunt work so you can focus on strategy and creativity. I want you focused on creating high quality, original content. Share your experiences, your stories, your unique insights. That's what's going to make you stand out in a sea of AI generated content. I want you to optimize for user intent, not just keywords. Understand what your audience is really looking for and provide it. What your audience is really looking for and provide it, and then use AI to uncover new opportunities. Let it help you find questions your audience is asking that maybe you haven't addressed yet or you thought might have been too simple. You just didn't realize that they're asking that question. I want you to keep learning and adapting.

Speaker 1:

The SEO landscape is always changing, and staying informed is key. And do not forget the basics. While AI is exciting, things like site speed, mobile friendliness and good old-fashioned backlinks still matter. So there you have it. The future of SEO is a blend of AI-powered insights and human creativity. It's not about letting AI take over. It's about leveraging it to enhance your unique voice and expertise. Remember, in a world of AI-generated content, your experiences and views are your superpower. Use AI as a tool to amplify your voice, not replace it.

Speaker 1:

So here's your homework. I want you to take one piece of content you've created Maybe it's a blog post, a podcast episode, whatever. Use an AI tool like ChatGPT, claude AI, and have it, optimize it, but don't stop there. Make sure you're adding your unique spin, your personal insights, make sure they don't get lost, and then share your before and after on social media with the hashtag AI powered SEO and be sure to tag me at Kendra Korman or at Kendra Korman coach. Let's see how we can leverage AI while keeping our content authentically us. Until next time, I want you to keep creating, keep optimizing and remember in the world of SEO, ai might be the new sidekick, but you're still the superhero. If you learned something today, please rate and subscribe wherever you're listening or watching, it really helps me out. Until next time I'll see you on another episode of Imperfect Marketing.
