I am originally from Kalamazoo, Michigan.  I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Health Education with a minor in Sociology.  My first Master’s degree is in Social Work and my second is in Blind Rehab Instruction with emphasis in Wholistic Health and Specialty Pegram in Alcohol and Drug Abuse from Western Michigan University.

I have worked in the Vision Rehab Program. I first started in Augusta Georgia as an adaptive computer instructor (JAWS & ZOOMTEXT).  Next moved to Tucson, Arizona as an itinerary Blind Vision Instructor.  I took off several years to be a full-time mother for our son.  We then moved back to Augusta, Georgia where I began my career with the Veterans Administration as a Living Skills instructor from December 1999 – April 2008. I took a promotion as a Visual Impairment Service Team (VIST) Coordinator in Charleston South Carolina. I coordinated vision services for over 550 Veterans.
