Ireland's history of terrorism is well-documented. A series of nationalist violent extremist groups, going back as far as the Fenians of the mid-19th century, have been active on the Emerald Isle and elsewhere. However, a recent attack attributed to an alleged 16-year old 'inspired' by Islamic State (ISIS) raises eyebrows. What does this mean for the jihadi threat to the world as a whole?
