Dan started Hard Rain & Slow Trains: Bob Dylan & Fellow Travelers in February of 2019 with his friend Jeff as a live in-the-studio radio show done for KEPW (KEPW.org) as a labor of love to help support PeaceWorks Community Radio. 

After the March 2020 COVID pandemic, the radio show developed into a more tightly edited production with Dan alone creating and hosting a show that is no longer live, but created with the intention of: 

1. Offering enriching new contexts that contribute to the enjoyment of Bob Dylan's music.
2. Spotlighting the musicians who have played with Dylan over the decades.
3. Contributing worthwhile ideas concerning the music of Bob Dylan and his fellow travelers.
4. Producing an engaging show that rewards repeated listenings.
