Captain Paul Watson

Captain Paul Watson was the Founder of the Greenpeace Foundation (1972), Sea Shepherd Conservation Society in Canada in 1977, in the USA in 1981, in the U.K. in 1983, in Brazil in 1998. He was the Founder of Friends of the Wolf in 1984 in Canada.
Captain Paul Watson was a national director of the Sierra Club between 2003 and 2006.
He was also the star of Animal Planet’s Whale War series between 2007 and 2013. He is also featured in numerous documentary films like Chasing the Thunder, Sea of Shadows, On the Wild Side, and Seaspiracy.

Awards

Captain Paul Watson is only the 2nd person to be awarded the Jules Verne medal for Environmentalism. The only other person to receive the award was Captain Jacques Cousteau.
In 2007, Captain Paul Watson received the Amazon Peace Prize from the President of Ecuador
In 2000, he was listed by Time magazine as one of the environmental heroes of the 20th Century.
