James Forrest is a record breaking Hiker, author, journalist … and more recently runner. Over three years James climbed all 1,001 UK peaks and holds some unbelievable hiking fastest know times. 

Having always been a lover of the great outdoors James has used running over the years to keep himself fit for his hiking adventures, however recently he has fallen more in love with the sport. He’s now set himself the   challenge to run new PB’s in distances from the 5K to the Marathon to celebrate his 40th year. 

Having already run new PB’s with RunThrough at Heaton Park and Oulton Park, where he came so close to breaking three hours will 2024 be the year James dips below that very impressive three hour mark for the Marathon? In this conversation, him and Ben get into that, why he thinks running with people better than you is so important and how his hiking adventures over the years have helped his running journey!
