Kristian began teaching and guiding mountain biking in 1995 and quickly realized this should be an important part of his life. Mountain biking led him to the North Carolina where he eventually became Program Director. He teaches full time at Appalachian State University and is a Course Conductor mentor and Level 4 certified coach with the Professional Mountain Bike Instructors Association. 

Over the past 12 years, Kristian has served as the Trail Boss for Rocky Knob Park in Boone, NC, the area’s first public bike park. Here he leads a dedicated crew of local volunteers to keep the trails in prime condition.
