Chad is the creator and host of Audible Originals podcast “Direct Deposit” which was recently nominated for three Podcast Academy Awards including Podcast of The Year and Best Podcast Host. Chad is also the creator and co-host of the “Quitters” podcast along with Julie Bowen of Modern Family.

He is the author of the critically acclaimed book, Black Magic: What Black Leaders Learned From Trauma and Triumph which was touted by bestselling author, Brené Brown as “daring, urgent and transformative.”

As a screenwriter, Chad has written for HBO Max’s Rap Sh!t and ABC Freeform’s Grownish. Chad was first mentored by Spike Lee and his creative collaborators have included Issa Rae, Kenya Barris, Morgan Freeman and others.

Chad’s op-eds have appeared in The New York Times, Time Magazine, and Newsweek among others. 

He is from Silver Spring, Maryland and graduated from Morehouse College.
