[00:00:00] Welcome back to another episode of the Vagina Rehab Doctor podcast. Last week, we talked about how to be more freaky during sex. And today, I want to talk about orgasms, travelgasms, and pelvic floorgasms. I don't know if you've ever heard of a pelvic floorgasm. But we're going to get into it today. I'm a pelvic floor physical therapist who specializes in sexual pain and vaginismus. And so it's my, it's my jam to talk about sex and pleasure and not just sex and pleasure, but sex and pleasure from a perspective of the pelvic floor muscle group and how this muscle group contributes greatly to our sexual satisfaction.

our sexual pleasure and our orgasms, So many people that struggle with pain, many people who struggle with lack of arousal or inability to orgasm have pelvic floor muscle dysfunction and pelvic floor muscle dysfunction is treatable. So there's a lot to consider and I want to talk to you about these three different things.

So we're gonna get into it now you guys so let's first talk [00:01:00] about orgasms pelvic floor gases and travel gasms So orgasms y'all are this a beautiful experience or your pelvic floor muscles? Even your uterus if you have it and your pelvic muscles contract rhythmically as a result of sexual stimulation, usually to the clitoris or to the penis, if you have one.

this can happen via direct stimulation to the clitoris. This can happen via penetration inside the vagina, which is rare. If you don't orgasm from something going in and out of your vagina, that's normal, okay? Most of us will require, stimulation to the clitoris. There are ways to orgasm from penetration, and so you need to go back to one of my previous episodes.

Just start scrolling back, I have an episode on there, three ways to orgasm from penetration. But the most common way is to stimulate the clitoris. This could be from oral sex. This can be from a sex toy This could be from direct manual stimulation from a finger This could be from bodily pressure like from another person's body during a sex position like missionary [00:02:00] And so there are several ways to orgasm and many times it is like this It is obviously pleasurable, but as it can also make you feel like your body is like Almost seizuring, right?

Some people shake when they're having an orgasm. Some people let out a lot of vocals, right? They're like screaming and stuff other people. It feels like a flicker like it feels like a little small flicker other people It just feels like a like a euphoric feeling where they feel happier They feel closer to their partner.

They feel relief, right? You may feel tired or sleepy after sex. All of this is normal, but it should be pleasurable and not painful. if it's painful, there could be some pelvic sore muscle dysfunction going on there or maybe even endometriosis or something with the uterus. And so, that's an orgasm.

Alright? Orgasms are good for your health. They help to relieve stress. They help you to sleep better. They help you to release oxytocin, which is known as the love hormone, cuddle hormone. they do many things, okay? But if we talk about [00:03:00] a travelgasm, a travelgasm is something that I typically experience when I travel abroad to a therapeutic location.

And I'm not talking about the busy, gotta go, gotta go, traveling where you're Feeling your entire day with activities. You're tired at the end of the day and you come home from the vacation, needing a vacation from the vacation. I am not talking about that type of travel. I'm referring to restorative traveling, where you are traveling for the purpose of relaxing, for letting go, for leisure, for trying new foods, and maybe going to the beach, and that type of traveling.

And your stress levels can get so low that your sex hormones actually rise. So your sex hormones and your stress hormones Usually combat each other so typically the higher your stress and anxiety is the lower your sex drive is So you may experience a higher libido You may notice that you have more lubrication and this could be not just from lower stress but also just more movement that you may be doing on vacation and also more vitamin D if you're traveling during the summer vitamin D helps to [00:04:00] support lubrication.

so you may experience just more sexual pleasure and more sexual interest while you're traveling. And so I like to refer to this as a travelgasm. The place that you're traveling to is, is intensifying your desire for pleasure and also your access to pleasure. So that's a travelgasm, and I made that up.

Yes, I did. Alright, let's talk about a pelvic floorgasm. A pelvic floorgasm is when the pelvic floor Can be utilized to help you reach an orgasm without penetration and without touching the clitoris. That's one definition. Another definition is even if you are touching the clitoris or even if you are experiencing, vaginal penetration, that by manipulating the pelvic floor while you're getting close to that orgasm, By squeezing the pelvic floor and relaxing it, that can actually help you to either strengthen the orgasm or reach it if you're having difficulty getting there.

A quick caveat, I am not suggesting that you do a lot of squeezing of your pelvic floor [00:05:00] if you already have a tight pelvic floor. If you have sexual pain, um, if you have hypertonic pelvic floor muscles or vaginismus, all right, if you do not have like pain or a lot of tightness, then you may consider, experimenting with your pelvic floor muscles as a way to help you get aroused, to help you get wet and to eventually reach that orgasm.

I've actually tried this before. Yeah, I actually orgasm one time just by squeezing and relaxing my pelvic floor. I did not touch myself. All right. Somebody's going to send this to my mom. Dang. Somebody's going to tell on me. Right. But it's just a natural bodily thing that happens. It's an orgasm. Right. It can happen in your sleep.

It can happen when you work out. And, you don't even have to touch yourself to experience an orgasm. So y'all that is a pelvic floor gasm. That's the pelvic floor gasm Sometimes even relaxing the pelvic floor breathing deeply down into your pelvic floor can help relax it more if pain and tightness is preventing you From orgasming.

So [00:06:00] that's the pelvic floor gasm using your pelvic floor muscles to either help you orgasm without touch Or using your pelvic floor muscles, contracting them and relaxing them to help you reach the orgasm quicker or to just help you orgasm stronger. All right. Travelgasm is more so about the travel location, Going to a therapeutic location that can help you de stress, desire sex more and just tap into more pleasure. And then an orgasm is the basic definition of that climax that we feel during sex or during arousal that typically feels euphoric, pleasurable. Oh. And sensational. All right. So thanks for tuning in y'all.

That's all I got for y'all today. All right. I'll talk to you again next Monday and go ahead and leave me a review. If you enjoyed this podcast, if you are enjoying it so far, and if you want to learn something, drop that in the review as well. I read those reviews. So I would love it.
