20. Morning Rituals as a powerful step towards saying YES to ourselves with our guest Be
Episode 20. Morning Rituals
This was such a fun conversation and one of the first of three guests we will be introducing over the next 3 weeks.
We love chatting with other incredible women, as collectively we have some pretty awesome knowledge to support women to say YES to themselves.
In this Episode we welcome Be to our podcast, chatting all things Morning Rituals.
For some of you, a Morning Ritual might be the starting point for coming back home to yourself, creating some space to listen into what is most important to you.
A morning Ritual is starting the day with you, and it doesn't have to be fancy! It supports filling up your cup and then you have more capacity to hold the things you need to in your day.
Things like (if you are a mum) being more present with your children, feeling more focused on your tasks, connecting with your partner etc.
Press play now and listen in for more goodness around Morning Rituals.
You may have heard Mel mention in the podcast that she was very keen to start a Morning Ritual of her own.
Luckily we had some time planned for a short getaway together, so we decided to play around with some ideas.
It was so fun checking in with practices that light you up and weaving them together to create a magical space for yourself.
I'm going to set the scene. Picture this....
Two women on the edge of a golf course, looking out across at the bay of water, sun is shining and the hint of a gentle breeze blowing (true story).
We grabbed out a phone and pressed play on Christina Aguilera 'Fighter' and danced away!! Mel then suggests we do squats, sit ups and star jumps and then out of the bushes we hear a man cheering us on from his backyard ha ha.
Tick 1st item done - Movement. For Mel it was so important for her to move her body first before any other activity.
Between the damp ground, the prickles and the possibility of being hit by a golf ball at any second, we found a spot and did a beautiful meditation from Insight Timer, which took us through the breath, calming of the body, compassion and an intention for our day.
2nd item ticked. Stillness and Connection with the body.
For the third activity Mel decided she was keen to journal. Journaling works well after meditation as the mind is a little more quiet, and writing unfiltered can often bring some incredible awareness as you allow the words (your truth) to flow through.
Giving yourself space like this can often help you work through an issue or problem that has come up, but also can give freedom to possibilities around these issues. Leaving you with a feeling of relief, feeling lighter, calmer, and more free.
Do you are already have a morning Ritual? Are you keen to start one?
Let's chat more over in the Facebook group, would love to hear your shares.
Until next time....
