Tim Becherer is the editor in chief of Martial Arts Lifestyle Magazine. He began his martial arts studies at the age of 12 in 1982.  He started in Shorin Ryu Karate and PKA Kickboxing under the instruction of Ulysses Owens. After moving to Florida in the early 1990's, he began a study of Jeet Kune Do, the Filipino Martial Arts, and Muay Thai under Loren Bookbinder. After graduating from the University of Miami in 1999, Tim relocated to Los Angeles and began a career in post production in television and film. He also took up studies at the world famous Inosanto Academy of Martial Arts and became a student of Guro Dan Inosanto and Sifu Larry Hartsell.  He is currently an instructor at the Inosanto Academy. 
In 2019 Tim founded Doble Dos Tatsulok Martial Arts, an organization that promotes his curriculum which is intended to create martial arts instructors world wide.
