Rachel is a science journalist and podcaster, working at the intersection where energy and climate change issues meet health.

Her work has been published by Cosmos Magazine, Forbes, The Australian, the Financial Times, Bloomberg Businessweek, the Philippine Star, and Foreign Policy, among others, during a career as a foreign correspondent in the Philippines, the Middle East and Africa. 

Rachel hosted Breaking Banks Asia, the regional edition of the #1-downloaded financial podcast Breaking Banks, and Trading Places which covered international trade and geopolitics. She has covered biotech for more than a decade, for Wamda in Lebanon, for Stockhead in Australia, and for Cosmos Magazine. 

Charis is a seasoned media executive, having spent her journalism and publishing career in online media, founding and launching a range of businesses in the sector. 

She founded Banking Review Media in 2003, was the founding CEO of Schwartz Pro – an experiment in business journalism for policymakers – in 2019, and was integral to the launch of 360info as Asia Pacific Editor, a regional wire agency with content written by university researchers. 

She also edited Business Spectator, Technology Spectator and iTnews, and served as Chief of Staff and Head of Digital Strategy for The Conversation. Today, Charis is managing editor at STEM journalism house Refraction Media, and produces the global Breaking Banks Asia podcast and Phase III. 

With a Bachelor of International Business and a background in banking, Charis is at the forefront of new media business models.
