Episode #14 - Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses Road Trip Adventure to Seattle Mariners Game

ScottyDontX Season 1 Episode 14

Ever wondered what it's like to experience a road trip through high-tech smart glasses? Join me as I journey from Vancouver to Seattle for an unforgettable Mariners game at T-Mobile Park, all while exploring the amazing features of my Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses. These aren't just any glasses—they capture still pictures, record videos, stream music, and even use AI to describe your surroundings. Let's see if they live up to the hype, all while enjoying some lighthearted commentary on BJ and Sarah from KZOK 102.5 and a few laughs inspired by comedian Justin Ruppel's take on futuristic tech.

As I navigate through the scenic views of Puget Sound and the bustling traffic of Tacoma, I reflect on the gadgets that have redefined our daily lives. From the Jetsons' dream of flying cars to today's practical yet astonishing devices, this episode offers both nostalgia and a peek into the future. Whether you're a baseball fanatic, a tech enthusiast, or just love a good road trip tale, this episode has something for everyone. Tune in for a delightful mix of tech talk, humor, and the incredible atmosphere of T-Mobile Park.

Speaker 1:

This is the Scotty Don't X Show Travel Edition. I am heading from Vancouver Washington up to Seattle Washington that's about a three-hour drive to attend the afternoon Mariners game Dun-da-da, which is KZOK Strike Zone with the Mariners, is KZOK Strike Zone with the Mariners by KZOK 102.5's BJ and Sarah in the Morning.

Speaker 2:

BJ, shea and Sarah Mornings is the correct name of the show. Scotty don't know this already. I am driving from Vancouver, washington, up to the T-Mobile Field Park, whatever it is, Breathtaking sunsets over Puget Sound, combined with excellent views of game action from all angles, give fans at T-Mobile Park an experience unequaled in Major League Baseball.

Speaker 1:

To see the Mariners game and it's about a three-hour, two-and-a-half half hour drive, depending how the traffic is, and the fog finally lifted just before Tacoma. So it is a bright, sunshiny day. So I put on my Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses and then I thought you know what let's do another travel Scotty Don't X episode. But unlike last time, you are not listening to my microphone wedged in the dashboard on my phone. This is audio produced by the glasses in recording mode, bluetooth to my phone, which is nice, because Bluetooth mode without video uses a lot less power.

Speaker 1:

So I got to say the Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses are pretty cool with the things they can do and you can take still pictures, you can take a video, you can listen to your music, phone calls and podcasts. See, you can also say hey, meta, what am I looking at? And it will take a quick picture or run it through the Meta AI and give you an audio description of what you're looking at. If I were to do it right now, then it would say you are on a multi-lane road with traffic surrounded by evergreen trees, something to that effect. Now, if I switch back to the ways screen, does the voice recorder and the metasmart glasses stop recording. And nope, it does not. Yay, I heard a comedian out there gee whiz scotty.

Speaker 2:

beyond dropping bj and sarah name, does your hero worship know any bounds? Now you're referencing the greatest comedic vocal talent and upcoming golfer pretending to be buddy-buddy with him, oh please.

Speaker 1:

Justin Ruppel who was kind of trashing on all my peeps because he's a younger generation, saying oh, we have all this cool technology, but all these people are whining about the flying car. Well, yes, because the Jetsons sold us on a flying car future. And, like most information, the first information you're exposed to is what you latch on to the truth, even if it's wrong, and thinking about the future. For that long, justin, I'm looking at you. It just means that we were hoping for it and we thought that we would live a couple miles in the sky in apartments with an outdoor treadmill to walk our dog. So my 1030 alarm went off and that's when I would have been leaving Vancouver to show up fashionably late to the Mariners game. To show up fashionably late to the Mariners game. But no, I got started much earlier.

Speaker 2:

So I will be to the event center Fans at T-Mobile Park and experience unequaled in Major League Baseball.

Speaker 1:

At about 10.59 am. Yeah, I know this is a recorded podcast and shouldn't give out times or something. Oh, and also, if you're giving out times and you're giving out exit numbers like I'm coming up on exit 147, let's just say you need to edit clips out of your podcast so that people don't track you in real time and send you a speeding ticket in the mail.
