SelfKind: Conversations in self-care, kindness and compassion for highly sensitive people
Hi and welcome to SelfKind with me, Erica Webb. This is a podcast for Highly Sensitive People (HSP) who want to navigate the tricky bits of their sensitivity with more ease, while finding their sensitivity super powers. Here, we're all about being, living and moving through a lens of self compassion and kindness.
As your host, I meet you as a fellow HSP. I know what it's like to feel like things are too loud, too bright and just ... too much. In my work as a registered counsellor and mindful movement coach, I've supported myself and my clients to find ways to embrace their sensitivity that centre on self-compassion, nervous system regulation, self-awareness and, ultimately, self-love.
From mindfulness, mindful movement, joy seeking and a zillion and one practices in between, here you'll find space to be fully you - fully human - and the tools to navigate the tricky bits of having a highly sensitive nervous system.
I’m thrilled you’re here.

Ep 250: The realities of perfectionism
Perfectionism. We end up in the perfectionist loop easily enough ... but what is the true cost?
In this episode of SelfKind with Erica Webb (that's me!) I'm delving into this subject and talking about how this constant striving for perfection can leave us feeling like we're never enough (and never will be).
You will hear:
- The impact of cultural expectations and pressures on our experiences of desiring and striving for perfection
- The role of shame in our quest for perfection
- Why, as a human, perfection is unachievable long term.
I also share a couple of personal stories - from being served an ad for pills that would 'reverse my grey' to a shame-inducing trip to the dentist - to illustrate how these things can play out in real life and how we can navigate them.
Because it's less about never experiencing the discomfort of imperfection and more about arming ourselves with the right tools.
