SelfKind: Conversations in self-care, kindness and compassion for highly sensitive people
Hi and welcome to SelfKind with me, Erica Webb. This is a podcast for Highly Sensitive People (HSP) who want to navigate the tricky bits of their sensitivity with more ease, while finding their sensitivity super powers. Here, we're all about being, living and moving through a lens of self compassion and kindness.
As your host, I meet you as a fellow HSP. I know what it's like to feel like things are too loud, too bright and just ... too much. In my work as a registered counsellor and mindful movement coach, I've supported myself and my clients to find ways to embrace their sensitivity that centre on self-compassion, nervous system regulation, self-awareness and, ultimately, self-love.
From mindfulness, mindful movement, joy seeking and a zillion and one practices in between, here you'll find space to be fully you - fully human - and the tools to navigate the tricky bits of having a highly sensitive nervous system.
I’m thrilled you’re here.

Ep 103: The Comparison Trap
Comparison. It's a trap! Comparison can take multiple forms, but it consistently robs us of:
> staying present with what is true for us
> moving in the direction of what we want and how we want to feel (rather than striving to catch up with the comparison)
> things that have the potential to bring us joy (but we never get started because ... comparison).
Tune in to find out how these four types of comparison can get in our way:
> comparison with others
> comparison with what we think is 'better'
> comparison with our past self
> comparison with what we 'wish' for (and how this is different to a goal)
Plus, we'll talk about what to do instead of following that comparison-itis down the beaten track.
