Upper Limit Milestone: Plateaus

Hello, my dear friends, I am wishing the best for you! I had such amazing runs and hikes this week, and I posted pictures on my Instagram, @fina.projectweightloss in case you want to take a peek.

We have 4 weeks left and are on day 42, moving along nicely. My sister, my hubby, and I hiked to Devils Rest, which was a 4-mile uphill hike. It was challenging but rewarding. I also ran an 8k and have more runs planned for next week. How is your challenge going? Are getting out there and/or dropping what is weighing you down? I hope so! You got this!

This week, we have such an important topic: plateaus in our weight loss journey. A plateau is a milestone where our weight loss stops or slows despite continuing our food protocols and exercise routine. It’s important to understand plateaus and not fight them. They are just part of the process. Research from the Calerie Study shows that a lack of diet adherence, not metabolic adaptation, is a major contributor to weight-loss plateaus. This means it's often about our food choices and habits rather than our metabolism. I will discuss two concepts to handle plateaus: the "see and clean up" approach, and the "shake it up" method. We need to assess our food protocols honestly and make necessary adjustments, and also consider shaking up our mental health, physiology, or spirit to push through our limits. Remember, awareness is king, and with patience and perseverance, we can break through any barrier and continue moving toward our best lives. Stay strong, stay motivated, and let’s keep forging ahead together!
