Get to Know 2024 Award Winner, Visit Dothan
Hannah Shiver tells us the award Visit Dothan recently accepted at Symposium - Event or Program Impact of the Year population under 500,000 - was truly a team effort.
Shiver, the Executive Director of Visit Dothan is a Dothan native, so you know her passion for the community will shine in every project her team works on.
The project that won them that award - a partnership with another Dothan native and former NFL football player who wanted to give back to kids in the area.
A local football field received a refresh and was branded with the Atlanta Falcons logo. Additionally, 6 fields within their city parks system received makeovers. Soon after that, the city (and the new turf field) hosted one of the final NFL Flag Super-Regional tournaments in the country!
Hannah says this project opened doors for young girls & boys interested in the sport, as well as revitalizing fields in parks across the city, providing new opportunities to outside residents.
